Hello,
I've set up the new mailing list, called NYSDB-mailinglist. This one
is supposed to be for all NYSDB members to use to discuss things of
group interest. Things to be discussed among execs and forge masters
could still be reserved for the NYSDB-ForgeMasterList. (I have a
"rule" in my email program that dumps emails from different lists
into different boxes, so I can read what I what when I get around to
it).

I have not yet added people to the general members list. I am
hoping that I can get comments from Scott Oliver or anyone else about
how this will be received. Also, it will be good for us to think
about why we want to have this email list, and what we expect to see
in emails posted to it. I would be moderating it, and if abused,
would be terminating it.

How should we add members to the list?
1. Add all the emails we have on the membership list and let people
know they can opt out if they don't want to receive the posted emails.
2. Send 1 email to everyone asking who wants to opt in, then only
add those who respond in the affirmative.

What statement should we make about the list to be sent out to all
new members?

Please send your thoughts, comments and suggestions by replying to
the nysdb-forgemasterlist at nysdb.org address so all can be in on the
discussion.

Thanks,
Tim
