  Gents:

Here's the damages for the meeting. A very fine one I might add:

  Income:

  Pre-Registration $1530
  On Site Regisration $360
  Iron in the Hat $232
  Steel Sales for Project $225.20
  Total $2347.20

  Expenses:

  Speaker Fees $1500
  Steel Costs $225.20
  Food, Supplies, Trash Removal $712.15
  Gift to Hosting Facility $100
  Total $2537.35

(One bill for portable toilets is still outstanding)

       What have we learned:

--Blacksmiths eat like horses! We under charged for the pork and beef dinner. Even the buffet at the hotel was $20 and wasn't half as good.
--We need to cut back on donuts. We bought 14 dozen donuts. That's 3.7 each for 45 people.
--We only charged $5 for the steel in the project. Marty and John purchased the surplus and put it on their rack so there was no loss. I don't think that doubling the price would have been out of line.
  --Educational costs were @$34/head.
--Operation of the stewpot costs a lot more than you think. Even when people bring their own meat and vegetables. Paper goods, spices, chicken broth, potatoes, V-8, mushrooms, cutting boards, boning knifes, can openers are all included in the receipts. I'm hoping that there is now a basic tool kit that is being passed along to the next stew pot chef. We shouldn't need to purchase it every time. Some items should last more than one outing.

Certainly a great meeting, and an even better learning exercise. Hope we can use these numbers as a benchmark for future activities.

Always open to comments and questions.--Harry Heuer
